Álvaro González
Barcelona Photographer
I was born in Uruguay and have lived in Barcelona since 2002. In a previous life I was a programmer, but photography was always a big part of mine.
I picked up a camera in 2007 and never put it down. By 2013 I had turned professional, and since then I have covered a great many corporate events in Barcelona — from very large to very small. Size is the least of it. What matters is attention to detail, and to everything that is going on around you. You can’t afford to miss a thing.
I have worked at the Mobile World Congress every year since 2019, for different companies, and I have been in every trade fair venue and show you can imagine in Barcelona. As for brands: Zoom, Bosch, IntraFish, MEXC, Capitole Consulting, Bowers & Wilkins, VEON and many more.
One of the advantages of choosing me is experience. I know you have to get to MWC early, because getting in takes a while and the traffic is heavy at that hour. I know where the press room is at the CCIB, and where I can set up to send files to clients while the talks carry on. I know which gear to take to Fira de Barcelona depending on whether they have booked the darkest room or the brightest one. I know how several of the city’s hotels work. And I know it because I have been there — not once, but many times.
That is why I work at the biggest and most important events in Barcelona: because they are looking for a professional photographer with years of experience. AI won’t give you that.
